HISTORY

The Alfa Romeo 179 is a car that participated at the Formula 1 World Champion in 1980. The Italian team with Bruno Giacomelli at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo 179 n.23 finished eighteenth in the Formula 1 World Champion 1980 with four points in season. The Italian driver obtained the best result in the Grand Prix of Argentine at Buenos Aires circuit and Grand Prix of Germany at Hockenheim circuit with a fifth place.

With the Bruno Giacomelli the Alfa team obtained the eleventh place in the constructors’ championship

The championship was won by the William FW07B of Alan Jones
