Description

BENTLEY 3 LITRE n.8

HISTORY

The Bentley 3 LItre n.8 is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1924. The British manufacturer showed up again to the French race after the defeat of the previous year by the Chenard & Walcker Sport. Despite the success of the debut, the members were all French cars only the Bentley was not.

John Duff and Frank Clement won with the Bentley 3 LItre n.8 the 24 hours of Le Mans 1924, for the English manufacturer was the first success.
The race was postponed in mid-June to have more hours of light. The hot heat caused many withdrawals, including the Lagache and Leonard’s Chenard & Walcker winners the year before due to the engine in focus. The Anglo-Saxon team this time brought home the victory. In second place the Lorraine Dietrich n.6 driven by Stoffel and Brisson with a gap of only one lap, while in third place the Lorraine Dietrich n.5 of De Courcelles and Rossignol also distanced a lap from the winners.
