HISTORY

The Brawn – Mercedes-Benz BGP001 is the only model of the stable founded by Ross Brawn, participated in the Formula 1 World Championship in 2009. The car derived from the base of the project abandoned by Honda, which left everything to Brawn. Zander and Bigois developed an aerodynamic solution that displaced the opponents, the two created a sort of ground effect with the rear diffuser, which was contested by some teams but allowed by the FIA. Ruben Barrichello with the Brawn – Mercedes-Benz BGP001 n.23 finished third in the Formula 1 World Champion 2009.

The Brazilian driver obtained the best result in the Grand Prix of Europe and Italy with a first place.

The championship was won by the Brawn – Mercedes-Benz BGP001 n.22 of Jenson Button
