HISTORY

The Bugatti T57C Tank is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1939. After the 1937 victory the French manufacturer with the Bugatti 57G Tank, further modified the car by lightening the body of about 60 kg, further improving the speed flagship. Jean Pierre Wimille and Pierre Veyron won the Bugatti T57C Tank n.1 the 24 hours of Le Mans 1939, for the French manufacturer was the second and last success.

In the race the duel was between the Bugatti and the Delage, which led the race until dawn, when the engine forced to slow down the pilots of the English team of Walter Watney, the Bugatti recovered the disadvantage and cut the winner line under the ovation of the public. In second place came the Delage D6-3L n.21 driven by Gerard and Monneret with a gap of four laps, while in third place the Lagonda V12 n.5 of Dobson and Brackenbury with a gap of ten laps.
