HISTORY

The Chaparral 2D – Chevrolet is a car that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1966. It was a car designed by Jim Hall.
The American Chaparral Cars Inc. team with Phill Hill and Jo Bonnier at the wheel of the Chaparral 2D – Chevrolet n.9 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1966 due to electric problem after one hundred eleven laps.
The race won by Ford MKII n.2 with Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, second the Ford MKII n.1 of Ken Miles and Denny Hulme with a gap of two meters, while in third position the Ford MKII n.5 of Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson with a gap of twelve laps
