HISTORY
The Chevrolet Corvette C5-R is prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2001. The car was designed by Pratt Miller and Chevrolet Racing for competition endurance racing.
The American Corvette Racing team with Ron Fellows, Chris Kneifel, Frank Freon and Johnny O’Connell at the wheel of the Chevrolet Corvette C5-R n.2 winner the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2001.
In second place the Porsche 996 GT3-RS n.31 of White Lightning Racing team with Christian Menzel, Randy Pobst, Mike Fitzgerald and Lucas Luhr with a gap of eight laps, while in third position the Porsche 996 GT3-RS n.86 of Freisinger Motorsport team with Wolfgang Kaufmann, Lance Stewart, Paco Orti and Cyril Chateau with a gap of twelve laps.
