The Japanese Dome Team Toyota team with Geoff Lees, Eje Elgh and Toshio Suzuki at the wheel of the Dome 85C – Toyota n.38 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1985 due to broken transmission after one hundred forty-one laps. The race was won by Porsche 956B n.7 of Ludwig, Barilla and Winter deployed by the Joest Racing team winners of the race. In second place the Porsche 956 GTI n.14 with Jonathan Palmer, James Weaver, Richard Lloyd, while in third position the Porsche 962C n.2 with Derek Bell and Hans Joachim Stuck.
