JAGUAR XJR-9 LM n.2
The Jaguar XJR-9 LM n.2 is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988. The car was designed by Tony Southgate in collaboration between the British manufacturer and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, and complied with the regulations of the Sport Prototype Championship and of that IMSA GTP, after the last victory at Le Mans in 1957 with the Jaguar D-Type, the English team brought a version of the XJR-9 specifically for the French race.
Lammers, Dumfries and Wallace won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988 with the Jaguar XJR-9 LM n.2, the Dutch driver managed to cross the line first even in the last half hour of the race he drove without the third gear. In second place came the Porsche 962C n.17 of Stuck, Ludwig and Bell. During the season Martin Brundle won the Prototype Sports Championship at the helm of the XJR-9.
