HISTORY

The Porsche 936 n.20 is the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1976. Designed to remedy the new change of regulation, the 936 was an open-top passenger car, had the peculiarity of a showy airbox positioned above the pilot in which the turbocharger air intake and the intercooler cooling were incorporated, and it was equipped with a 6-cylinder turbo engine.

Jacky Ickx and Gijs van Lennep at the wheel of the Porsche 936 n.20 winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1976, bringing the German manufacturer back to victory after five years. In second place the Mirage GR8 n.10 of Jean-Louis Lafosse and Francois Migault spaced out of eleven laps, while on the third the DeCadenet n.12 of Chris de Cadenet and Alain Craft at twelve laps.
During the race in an accident at Mulsanne Kink with the Datsun 260Z died the French rider Haller.
