HISTORY

The Porsche 956B is a prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1984. The British Skoal Bandit Porsche Team with David Hobbs, Philippe Streiff and Sarel Van Der Merwe at the wheel of the Porsche 956B n.33 finished third in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1984 with a gap of nine laps from the winner the race was Porsche 956B n.7 with Klaus Ludwig and Henry Pescarolo, while in third position the Porsche 956B with David Hobbs, Philippe Streiff and Sarel Van Der Merwe.

The race was conditioned by the death of the race commissioner Jacky Loiseau due to the incident involving John Sheldon’s Nimrod-Aston Martin and Drake Olson’s sister car.
