HISTORY
The Porsche RS Spyder EVO is the prototype that participated at the 24 hours of Le Mans of 2008.
The Danish Team Essex team with John Nielsen, Casper Elgaard and Sascha Maassen at the wheel of the Porsche RS Spyder EVO n.31 twelfth in the 24 hours of Le Mans of 2008 with a gap of thirty-four laps to winner. The team finished second the LMP2 Class.
The race won by Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello at the wheel of the Audi R10 TDI n.2. In second place the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP n.7 with Nicolas Minassian, Marc Gene, Jacques Villeneuve with a gap of four minutes, while in third position the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP n.8 with Christian Klein, Franck Montagny and Ricardo Zonta with a gap of 2 laps. In the race the team exploiting the technical difficulties that hit the Peugeot and their experience in the crucial moments of the race. The Peugeot came second and third. During the season despite the participation in the ALMS and LMS, the three drivers did not win other races, but contributed to the victory of the constructors’ championship.
