HISTORY

The Renault RE20 is a single-seater that participated in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1980. After obtaining the first victory in Formula 1 with the Renault RS10 in Dijon with Jabouille, the French manufacturer with the new project entrusted to Michel Tetu and Francois Castaing, tried to be the true outsider of the championship. Jean-Pierre Jabouille at the wheel of the Renault RE20 n.15 arrived eighth in the 1980 Formula 1 World Championship, with one victory in the season. The French driver obtained the best result in the Grand Prix of Austria at Zeltweg circuit with a first place

With three victories, six pole positions and two fastest laps the French manufacturer came fourth in the constructors’ championship.

The championship was won by the William FW07B of Alan Jones
