HISTORY
The Alpine A220 – Renault is a prototype that participated at the 24 hours of Le Mans 1968. The French Société des Automobiles Alpine team with drivers Henri Grandsire and Gerard Larrousse at the wheel of Alpine A220 – Renault n.28 did not finish at the 24 hours of Le Mans 1968 due to accident after fifty-nine laps.
The race was won by the Ford GT40 n.9 of Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi, in second place the Porsche 907 LH n.66 with Rico Steineman and Dieter Spoerry, while in third position the Porsche 908 LH n.33 with Rolf Stommelen and Jochen Neerpasch.
