HISTORY
The Aston Martin DBR9 is a car that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2005. The car was designed in partnership with Prodrive.
The British Prodrive / Aston Martin Racing team with David Brabham, Stephane Sarrazin and Darren Turner at the wheel of the Aston Martin DBR9 n.59 finished ninth at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2005 with a gap of thirty-seven laps to winner. The race won by Audi R8 n.3 with Jirki Jarvi Lehto, Marco Werner and Tom Kristensen. In the second place finished the Pescarolo C60H-Judd n.16 with Emmanuel Collard, Jean-Christophe Bouillon and Eric Comas, while in third position the Audi R8 n.2 with Frank Biella, Allan McNish and Emanuele Pirro. Despite the limitations imposed by the Federation, the Audi decided to set the race on reliability not having the top speed of Pescarolo, which turned five seconds on the fastest lap but suffered two long pit stops that prevented the recovery.
