HISTORY

The Audi R8 is a prototype that participated at the 24 hours of Le Mans 2003. The Audi decided not to participate with an official team, but to give its sports cars to private teams, just one of these was the English team.

The English Audi Sport UK Arena International team with Frank Biela, Perry McCarthy and Mika Salo at the wheel of the Audi R8 n.10 did not finish in the 24 hours of Le Mans 2003 due to petrol breakdown after twenty-eight laps. The race was won by Bentley EXP Speed 8 n.7 with Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello and Guy Smith, in second place the Bentley EXP Speed 8 n.8 with Mark Blundell, David Brabham and Johnny Herbert while in third position the Audi R8 n.6 with Emanuele Pirro, Stefan Johansson, Jyrky Jarvi Lehto.
