The Italian Prototipi Bizzarrini SAL team with Sam Posey and Massimo Natili at the wheel of the Bizzarrini GT Strada 5300 – Chevrolet n.11 did not finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1966 due to crossed pit safety line after thirty-eight laps. The race was won by Ford MKII n.2 with Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren, in second place the Ford MKII n.1 with Ken Miles and Denny Hulme, while Ford MKII n.5 with Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson.
