HISTORY

The BMW 3.0 CSL is a car that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1977. The Belgium Luigi Racing team with Pierre Dieudonne, Jean Xhenceval and Spartaco Dini at the wheel of the BMW 3.0 CSL n.71 finished eighth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1977, with a gap of fifty-one laps to winner. The winner the race was the Porsche 936-77 with Jurgen Barth, Hurley Haywood and Jacky Ickx. In second place with a gap of eleven laps came the Mirage GR8 n.10 of Schuppan and Jarier, while in third place the Porsche 935 n.40 of Ballot-Lena and Gregg at twenty seven laps.
