HISTORY
The BMW 3.5 CSL is a car that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1976. The British Hermetite Products Ltd. team of Tom Walkinshaw and John Fitzpatrick at the wheel of the BMW 3.5 CSL n.45 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1976, due to the broken engine after completing seventeen laps. The race won by Jacky Ickx and Gijs van Lennep at the wheel of the Porsche 936 n.20, in second place Jean-Louis Lafosse and Francois Migault at the wheel of the Mirage GR8 – Cosworth n.10, while in third place the DeCadenet n.12 of Chris de Cadenet and Alain Craft at twelve laps.
