The America Scuderia Filipinetti team with Jacques Rey and Claude Haldi at the wheel of the Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione n.17 did not finish at the 24 hours of Le Mans 1968 due to accident after seventy-eight laps.

The race was won by Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi at the wheel of the Ford GT40 n.9 of the Team John Wyer Automotive Engineering, in second place the Porsche 907 LH n.66 with Rico Steineman and Dieter Spoerry while in third place Porsche 908 n.33 of Rolf Stommelen and Jochen Neerpasch of the official team.
