HISTORY
The Jaguar XJR-9 LM is prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989. The car was designed by Tony Southgate in collaboration between the British manufacturer and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, and complied with the regulations of the Sport Prototype Championship and of that IMSA GTP. The British Silk Cut Jaguar team with Jan Lammers, Patrick Tambay and Andrew Gilbert-Scott at the wheel of the Jaguar XJR-9 LM n.1 finished fourth at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989 with a gap of nine laps to winner
The race was won by Sauber – Mercedes-Benz C9 n.63 with Jochen Mass, Manuel Reuter, Stanley Dickens, while in second place the Sauber – Mercedes-Benz C9 n.61 with Mauro Baldi, Kenneth Acheson and Gianfranco Brancatelli. In third position Porsche 962C n.9 with Bob Wollek, Hans-Joachim Stuck.
