The French Maserati France and Johnny Simone team with André Simon and Lloyd ‘Lucky’ Casner at the wheel of the Maserati 151/3 Coupe n.2 did not finish in the 24 hours of Le Mans 1963 due to broken gearbox after forty laps. The race won by Ferrari 250 P n.21 with Ludovico Scarfiotti and Lorenzo Bandini, in second place the Ferrari 250 GTO n.24 with Jean Blaton and Gerard Langlois Van Ophem, while in third position the Ferrari 250 P n.22 with Mike Parkes and Umberto Maglioli.
