The German Martini Racing Team team with Manfred Schurti and Helmut Koinigg at the wheel of the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo n.21 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1974 due to broken engine after eighty-seven laps. The race was won by Henry Pescarolo and Gerard Larrousse at the wheel of the Matra Simca MS670C n.7, in second place the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo n.22 with Gjis Van Lennep and Herbert Muller with a gap of six laps, while in third position Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Francois Migault at the wheel of the Matra Simca MS670C n.9.
