HISTORY

The Porsche 911 GT1 is a prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1996.

The German Porsche AG Team with Karl Wendlinger, Yannick Dalmas and Scott Goodyear at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT1 n.26 finished third at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1996 with a gap of thirteen laps to winner.

The race was won by Manuel Reuter, Davy Jones and Alexander Wurz at the wheel of the TWR-Porsche WSC-95 n.7, in second position the Porsche 911 GT1 n.25 with Hans-Joachim Stuck, Bob Wollek and Thierry Boutsen with a gap of one lap.
