The German Porsche System Team with Jurgen Barth and Manfred Schurti at the wheel of the Porsche 924 Carrera Turbo n.4 finished sixth in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1980 with a gap of twenty-two laps to winner. The race won by Rondeau M379B n.16 with Jean Rondeau, Jean-Pierre Jabouille. In second place the Porsche 908/J80 n.9 with Jacky Ickx and Reinhold Joest while in third place the Rondeau M379B – Cosworth n.17 with Gordon Spice, Philippe Martin and Jean-Michel Martin.
