HISTORY

The BMW M1 is a car that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1984. The Danish team of Jens Winther / Team Castrol with Jens Winther, Lars-Viggo Jensen and David Mercer at the wheel of the BMW M1 n.101 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1984, due to the breaking of the front suspension after completing ninety-six laps. The winner the race was Porsche 956B n.7 with Klaus Ludwig and Henry Pescarolo, in second place the Porsche 956 n.26 with Jean Rondeau and John Paul jr, while in third position the Porsche 956B with David Hobbs, Philippe Streiff and Sarel Van Der Merwe.
