HISTORY

The Jaguar XJR-12 is a car that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1990. The car was designed by Tony Southgate and derived from the Jaguar XJR-9 winner of 1988, and regulated both for the Sport Prototype Championship and for the ‘IMSA GTP, the English team use the XJR-12 only for races with a duration of over 12 hours.

The English Silk Cut Jaguar team with Jan Lammers, Andy Wallace and Franz Konrad at the wheel of the Jaguar XJR-12 n.2 finished second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1990, with a gap of four laps to winner race. The race won by Jaguar XJR-12 n.3 of John Nielsen, Price Cobb and Martin Brundle, completing a double for the British manufacturer third the Porsche 962C n.45 of Tiff Needell, Anthony Reid, David Sers. The two crews with reversed positions obtained a splendid shotgun for the 24-hour Daytona.
