HISTORY

The Matra Simca MS670 is a car that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1972. The car derived from the MS 660, and it was a decided attempt by the French manufacturer to win Le Mans and bring the trophy to France after the last victory of a transalpine car in 1950 with the Talbot-Lago T26 GS.

The French Equipe Matra Simca Shell team with Henry Pescarolo and Graham Hill at the wheel of the Matra Simca MS670 n.15 winner the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1972, for the Matra and for the pilots it was their first victory, the English driver managed to conquer the triple crown, having won the Grand Prix of Monaco, the 500 miles of Indianapolis and the 24 hours of Le Mans. In second place came the twin car n.14 of Cevert and Ganley with a gap of one lap, while thirds with nineteen laps of delay the Porsche 908 LH n.60 of Joest, Weber, Casoni.
