HISTORY

The Porsche 919 Hybrid n.19 with Nico Hulkenberg, E.Bamber, N.Tandy took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015. The 2015 Porsche 919 hybrid is the second evolution of the initial design of 2014 is part of the LMP1-H prototype category, has two engines: a thermal fueled petrol, flanked by an electric powered by a lithium ion battery. The Porsche 919 hybrid uses two energy recovery systems, from exhaust gases and braking.

The thermal engine, a 90° V4 of 2000 cc, supercharged by a turbocharger, is capable of delivering a power of 370 kW. While the hybrid system brought to the Porsche 8 MJ transmitted a power of 290 kw to the front.

The trio Nico Hulkenberg, Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy with the Porsche 919 hybrid n.19 won the 24 hours of Le Mans 2015 by surprise. Only for this race the Porsche decided to deploy a third car, in addition to the two officers who also took part in the WEC, despite not being as fast as the twin cars Porsche n.17 e Porsche n.18, made a constant run without problems.
