HISTORY

The Porsche 962 is a prototype that participated at the 24 Hours of Le Mans of 1984. The American Henn’s T-Bird Swap Shop team with Michel Ferte, Edgar Doren and Preston Henn at the wheel of the Porsche 962 n.61 did not finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1984 due to electrics problem after having covered two hundred forty seven laps. The winner the race was Porsche 956B n.7 with Klaus Ludwig and Henry Pescarolo, in second place the Porsche 956 n.26 with Jean Rondeau and John Paul jr, while in third position the Porsche 956B with David Hobbs, Philippe Streiff and Sarel Van Der Merwe.

The race was conditioned by the death of the race commissioner Jacky Loiseau due to the incident involving John Sheldon’s Nimrod-Aston Martin and Drake Olson’s sister car.
