HISTORY

Williams – Renault FW16 is a car that participated in the 1994 Formula 1 World Championship. After winning the world championship in 1993 with Williams FW15C, Alain Prost retired from racing, and Frank Williams was able to hire three-time world champion Ayrton Senna. The new car designed by Patrick Head and Adrian Newey due to the new technical regulations, had to do without the electronic devices that made it unbeatable in the last two world championships.

Damon Hill at the wheel of the Williams – Renault FW16 n.0 finished second in the Formula 1 World Champion 1994 behind only one point at Michael Schumacher with the Benetton – Ford B194 n.5. The English driver achieved six victories in season.

The season was marred by the fatal incidents at the San Marino Grand Prix of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna.
