HISTORY

The ALD 04 – BMW is a prototype that competed at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1988. The car was designed by Louis Descartes.

The French Automobiles Louis Descartes team with Louis Descartes, Dominique Lacaud and Jacques Heuclin at the wheel of the ALD 04 – BMW n.177 finished twenty-second in the 24 hours of Le Mans 1988, due to broken engine after one hundred three laps. The race was winner Jaguar XJR-9 n.2 with Jan Lammers, Andy Wallace and Johnny Dumfries, in second place the Porsche 962C n.17 with Derek Bell, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Klaus Ludwig, while in third position the Porsche 962C n.8 with Frank Jelinski, Stanley Dickens, John Winter.
