HISTORY

The Renault R26 is a car that participated at the Formula 1 World Championship in 2006. After the world championship won the year before with the Renault R25, the team directed by Flavio Briatore, presented the new car designed by Bob Bell and Tim Densham, compared to the previous one there were small aerodynamic updates.

Fernando Alonso with the Renault R26 n.1 won the Formula 1 World Championship in 2006, for the Spanish rider was the second and last world title. The season was marked by the challenge between Alonso and Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari. The World Championship was decided at the last race in Interlagos, with nine points ahead Alonso managed the race and crossed the finish line the second position, repeating the world championship of the year before. Renault thanks to the performance of Giancarlo Fisichella won the constructors’ title.
